Max Payne stays alive by consuming painkillers to pump himself up to continue the fight. Synopsis and Features In Max Payne 3, Max has left New York City due to a fight with the local mob. An acquaintance, Raul, offers him a way out by working security for a wealthy family in Brazil, far away from familiar surroundings. In this, the third installment of the series, you control an older Max who is much more cynical and world-weary. As usual, Max continues to drown the memories of his past by drinking more and popping painkillers to get through each day. Max travels to Sao Paulo, Brazil and begins his new job as a body guard for the wealthy Branco brothers. Rodrigo Branco is a real-estate mogul, Victor is a local politician and Marcelo parties his time away in the hottest night clubs in town. The Comando Sombra, a street gang, attempt to kidnap members of the Branco family for ransom and Max is once again thrown into violent and action packed rescue attempt. This intense game is able to deliver realistic graphics and action sequences with the help of the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine [RAGE] and the Euphoria Dynamic Animation Engine. The physics of the game has also been improved to ensure that whatever action Max performs, it syncs with the surroundings. Cover mechanics ensure you are able to continue attacking your enemies while you take cover behind various obstacles to protect yourself. Max Payne 3 has both single and multi-player options which allow you to play with your friends to see who is better. The view while playing this game still remains the same over-the-shoulder cam as the previous games. Bullet-time allows you to slow time down and ensure you hit targets with accuracy. You can see each bullet hit the enemy in this mode which makes for exciting game play. Last Stand is a new addition to this game which Max can use when he is about to die by killing the enemy who shot him.
