Also known as double ikat sarees, Patolas are made by the resist-dyeing process using the warp and weft technique. Pattern Details: Kalamkari is an ancient style of hand painting with a tamarind pen, using natural dye. Motifs drawn in Kalamkari spans from flowers, peacock, and paisleys to divine characters of Hindu epics like Mahabharata and Ramayana. Fabric: Art silk is manufactured by synthetic fibres like rayon. It's light in weight and is soft on the skin for comfort in summers. Ornamentation: Zari work is known for the art of weaving threads in golden and silver colours. It involves the process of twisting a flattened metallic strip, which sometimes is made from pure gold and silver.
