When Hannah Legare was eleven, her adored father, Buzz - notoriously charming doctor and family man - went fishing in the mouth of the Charleston harbour. Two days later, his boat was found drifting, holding nothing but his fishing rod and his waiting Labrador retriever. Twenty years later Hannah's new life in San Francisco is unravelling.
