Devil Anse Hatfield cast a bloody shadow across the southern West Virginia/eastern Kentucky line in post Civil War America. His life changed in his declining years when he repented of his sins and was baptized. This book is a series of apocryphal letters from Devil Anse to his sons, Joe, Cap and Tennis Hatfield, and was derived from stories told to me by my grandmother and others, as well as lessons learned in a lifetime of dealing with others.
