The device uses lockable BNC connectors to secure coaxial broadcast-grade cables, preventing unintentional wire disconnections. This ensures fast, professional, and uninterrupted distribution of uncompressed SDI signals.The VM-4UX also boasts an extended-reach input extension. This feature equalizes the input signal and re-clocks output signals to achieve a longer signal extension. When used with Kramer's high-quality coaxial SDI cables, this device supports signal extensions of up to 300m for SD signals, 200m for 1.5G HD signals, 100m for 3G and 6G HD signals, and 80m for 12G 4K signals.The VM-4UX is compliant with multiple SMPTE standards, including 259M (SD-SDI), 292M (HD-SDI), 344M (ED-SDI), 424M (3G HD-SDI), ST-2081 (6G-SDI), and ST-2082 (12G-SDI). It supports a maximum resolution of 4K at 60Hz (4:2:2) 30bpp, and is compatible with SDI, HD-SDI, 3G HD-SDI, 6G, and 12G SDI compliant signals. This device also supports the pass-through of standard embedded audio channels with ancillary ID and metadata information.For ease of maintenance and troubleshooting, the VM-4UX is equipped with LED indicators. These provide status updates for the transmitted SDI data rate of input and output connected signals, as well as a power indicator. The compact DigiTOOLS fan-less enclosure allows for easy installation in small footprint spaces, over-ceiling mounting, or side-by-side rack mounting.
