Kitab al-Mandzumah al-Baiquniyyah disusun oleh Thaha atau ‘Amr bin Muhammad bin Futuh al-Dimasyqi al-Syafi’i al-Baiquni. Beliau hidup sekitar tahun 1080 H. Keterangan terkait biografi al-Baiquni disebutkan dalam kitab al-I’lam karya al-Zirakli.
Karya al-Baiquni terbilang populer, hal ini dapat dilihat dari banyaknya ulama yang memberikan syarah atau penjelasan terhadap kitab tersebut. Seperti Ahmad bin Muhammad al-Hamwi (w. 1098 H) yang menuliskan syarahnya yang berjudul Talqih al-Fikr bi Syarh Manzumah al-Atsar, kemudian Muhammad bin Ahmad al-Badiri al-Dimyathi (w. 1140 H) yang menulis Syarh Mandzumah al-Baiquni, ada pula Hasan bin Ghali al-Azhari al-Jadawi (w. 1202 H) menulis kitab Syarh al-Mandzumah al-Baiquniyah. Tercatat puluhan ulama yang diketahui telah menuliskan syarah untuk kitab al-Mandzumah al-Baiquniyyah.
