Originally printed in London in 1915 as a limited run of 175 copies, this is the 1976 London reprint of what was a remarkable book at the time. It accompanied an exhibition of well over a thousand objects, mounted to raise money for the British Red Cross and their efforts to help and care for the wounded soldiers of World War I. There is a lengthy and excellent introduction by Henri Joly and it is worth noting that almost every area of Japanese arts are covered here.
