Ithaca Then Now

Searching the vast photographic archives of the DeWitt Historical Society of Tompkins County, the authors of Ithaca Then and Now have chosen images that show an Ithaca, New York that once was. These views depict a city of carriages and trolleys, of parades and celebrations, and of hotels, schools, theaters, and churches that no longer exist. Standing in the footsteps of the turn-of-the-century photographers, the authors show us these same views as they appear today. Some of the scenes haven't changed all that much; others are astonishingly different. Filled with original research and colorful, informative descriptions of the photographs, Ithaca Then & Now is of special interest to anyone concerned with the American architectural heritage.
