A history of US fleet destroyers working on a variety of missions off the coast of South Korea during 1950. Alexander (dean, Meinders School of Business, Oklahoma City U.) invents a fictional enlisted man and destroyer to tell the story of the war through an enlisted man's eyes and relating the daily experiences of living and working on a destroyer. Alexander's use of diaries and logs for research, his insights into the political nature of the conflict, and authentic (sometimes bawdy) seaman's style of writing bring an immediate and accurate tone to the history.
