In the Path of War makes use of a rare manuscript collection of oral history materials from men and women who were children during the American Revolutin. Jeanne Winston Adler has mined this collection to show what life was like for young people growing up next door to the Battles of Bennington and Saratoga. In this book, we wee pioneer families - both Patriot and Tory - trying to farm the land int eh midst of great events. We listen to the authentic voices of people who lived during Revolutionary times. We hear them tell us what life in a frontier war zone was like. We hear them tell how and why the Revolutionary War was also a civil war.
