The IST SP36A Heavy Duty Locking Snap Shackle Lanyard with Quick Release Buckle is the attachment point to add to your BC when a secure hold is your top priority. Webbed lanyard has a 360° swiveling gate clip at one end for attachment to your BC and a large quick-release buckle at the center. The opposite end offers a heavy duty 360° swiveling snap shackle with spring loaded captive gate pin. Both clips are constructed of corrosion resistant stainless steel. The snap shackle is a special type of clip often seen as part of a sailor’s spinnaker rigging system but it’s no less useful to divers who need the security of a locking clip attachment point. To open the clip pull the split ring on the clip’s shank to release the pin that holds the clip’s gate closed: don’t worry the pin remains attached to the clip and will return to its original position when released. Attach desired gear to the open gate then snap the gate closed over the end of the bolt pin to engage the integrated ball lock on the end of the pin. The gate will remain securely closed until the pin is pulled to open it. The lanyard’s quick release buckle makes it easy to remove whatever the snap shackle is holding from your kit without having to open the shackle itself.
