HyperX HYTE Y40 S-Tier Aesthetic Panoramic ATX Mid-Tower Gaming Computer Case, Red
Expanding on the Y60's exclusively vertical graphics architecture, Y40 delivers upgraded performance, compatibility, and aesthetics The included luxury PCIE 4.0 riser supports the latest andgreatest graphics cards. It features thesame color matched canopy introduced with the Y60 As next generation graphics cardsgrow ever larger and more powerhungry, the Y40 grows GPU support to 4 full slots and additional airflowspace between the edge of the card andthe glass. An intake fan below the powersupply shroud provides fresh airupwards to theGPUto improve coolingfurther Fresh air is injected directly into GPU from the included fan hidden belowExpansion cards Typically, verticalgraphicsorientations limit the user toasingle PCI Express card, preventingexpansion Y40 includes support for up to 6 half-height expansion cards behindtheprimary graphics card Support for capturecards,PCIESSDs,sound cards, orothers ismaintained,as long asthatproductis available in half heightformfactorCooling Y40 has a similar airflow design to its oldersibling, and has nearly the same wide rangeof cooling support The case comes with 2x 120mm fans pre-installed, one beneath the floor and one atthe rear. Under the assumption that a liquidcooler will be side mounted and provide anextra set of fans to drive airflow through thecase The side mount can fit up to a 280mmradiator with a combined thickness of up to120mm allowing for large 60mm+ radiatorsto be used for custom loop configurations The top mount can fit up to a 360mmradiator for a dual radiator setup Y40 brings support for large air coolers over180mm in height, allowing for almost everyCPU air cooler on the marketCable Management Y40 features a more standard cablemanagement strategy, featuringcable management space behindthe motherboard shelve and withinthe PSU shroud The cavity under the PSU shroudfeatures HYTE's new cable "shelf"which allows cable management to sitfurther back within the case andaway from airflow zones that mayimpact GPU coolingBuild guide Y40 assembly should be mostly familiar to anyone with experience building in an ATX case with PSU shroud Enjoy the widened cable management view port on the top of the case to help when plugging in your CPU 8 pin power or fan headers Need to remove the front glass during assembly? It is secured with screws to the top and bottom of the case. Just make sure to replace them when you are done Make use of the cable shelf that surrounds the PSU to tie down excess cabling Obsessed withcable management even outside your PC? We put tie down points on the back of the casetooThermal performance setupThere is some carry over experience from the Y60's thermal testing and builds that apply to Y40 as well, due to having a very similar airflow layout.Optimal airflow for air cooled GPUs is as follows: Side: Intake Top: Exhaust Rear: Exhaust Bottom: IntakeWhen using a liquid cooled GPU and CPU, either via full custom loop or with a combination of GPU hybrid cooler and CPU AIO, the side fans' airflow direction has less of an overall thermal impact when compared to an air-cooled GPU.Y40 vs Y60 GPU thermalsY40 features superior air-cooled GPU thermal performance when compared to the Y60 due to its larger clearance between the GPU fans and side glass. These tests were performed using a 280mm side intake radiator with fans set to 1000 rpm and 3x 120mm top exhaust fans also set to 1000 rpm
