For decades before two-way radio, every Mayne Nicless driver who went out on a job had strict orders to "hurry back". Prompt attention to customers was the best way to keep them. Mayne Nickless people heard those two worlds so often that they became a standard greeting among them, even when only passing each other in the street. They seemed an excellent title for this centenary history of the firm John Mayne and Enoch Nicless started way back in 1886.
