Houghton Mifflin Mathmatics: Chapter Reader Cranking Out the Numbers

Each year the school has an ice cream social and this year Mr. Foster's fifth grade class had to make the ice cream. Since the social began in a few hours, the class was busily trying to determine the ingredients and the portion of each. This story addresses the use of fractions. At the end of the story, the author provided questions and an activity.
