Hardcover book detailing the semi-track vehicles conceived shortly after the turn of the century in an effort to prevent the sinking of tractor wheels in soft ground. Most half-track vehicles were developed and produced for military and similar special purposes. The advent of low-pressure large pneumatic tires gradually ruled out the need for the semi-track, but these vehicles are still un use in many parts of the world.
