Ruy (Alberto Yoel Garcia) and his friend Tito (Roberto Sanmartin), two of the young musicians from the recording session. Both regard the city with great affection yet long to leave to it because only in leaving it can they see the rest of the world. So there's a rueful note to their yearning. As they sit around with like-minded friends in the evening - smoking, drinking and making music - the talk frequently turns on news from those who have escaped. Is it worth the risk? Is life in Madrid or Miami really going to provide the key to their unrealized ambitions or will they be abandoning the warmth and familiarity of home for misery in a foreign land? Ruy's wife, Caridad (Yailene Sierra), a woman of feistiness and courage, is worrying away at this dilemma with intensity. The two of them are on the brink of divorce. He's been cheating on her for years. Now she wants him out. The question is whether she should make the break permanent by taking their two children and joining her mother in Miami. Ruy and Tito have a similar decision to make. Luz Maria (Zenia Marabal), a Madrid record producer, has just arrived in Havana with her entourage, looking for new talent. Sensual, handsome Ruy, with his dark eyes, white smile and perfect body, is soon in bed with her, and by the way, she also likes his music. He and Tito can now count on being able to embark on their long-awaited European adventure but the key question remains: is it going to be worth it?
