Description:Detects and alerts you immediately where a circuit is open. You can quickly and easily Locate short circuits, open connections, broken wires, current leaks and even trace wires. You can also find intermittent circuit problems by flexing wires or connectors and listening for a change in the receiver tone allowing you general tracing or pinpointing the problem location. It also shows you the direction to the short with its direction indicator, eliminating the guesswork.
Probe Design: The receiver probe is made of curved wire and insulating silica-gel to enable it to detect cables in crowded and difficult environments. According to the characteristics and sensitivity of the circuit, the probe can pick up the signal of cable within a certain ranges, but it is better to place the receiver's probe above or below the cable vertically.
ShortBreak Circuit Checking: Turn on the sender and receiver, switch the sender to COUNT position. Connect the red wire of sender to the tested cable and the black wire to the other end. If the COUNT indicator light turns red(resistance of cable is not more than 10KQ), it shows the cables short or open.

The HYC6813 type is without LED light, and the HYC6814 type has a LED light on the receiver probe.
