Guale, the Sacred Landscape

When James Valentine discovered Guale, he was a young man with a camera and a mission. This hauntingly beautiful collection of photographs and poetic prose resulted from Valentine's love affair with Guale and its sacred landscape. The Guale Indians lived, hunted and fished amidst the barrier islands of the Georgia coast. That jewel like chain of islands still possess a unique diversity of sub-tropical coastal life and landscape.
