Greenock Revisited

The Greenock Blitz, started out as a non fiction, before-and-after photographic account of the German air raids on Greenock during the Second World War. Over the years however, it has grown to include eyewitness accounts by survivors and insights to the goings-on in and around the Clyde as it became the busiest port in the world. Read of Churchill's dash to Canada with the contents of The Bank of England, Rudolf Hess's doomed peace flight to Scotland, the most famous convoy operations that began in Greenock such as the invasion of Africa, the relief of Malta and the invasion of Europe. In total, there are over 100 photographs - largely twin photographs, that allow readers to compare damaged buildings from the air raids with their modern day appearance.
