This second volume of the new series from Judaica Press, Books of the Bible, continues the style and format of our popular series, Books of the Prophets and Hagiographa - Holy Writings, which has become a classic text for scholar and layman alike.The Hebrew text has been faithfully translated into concise, but modern, idiomatic language. Rabbi Rosenberg's precise translation, in which accuracy is the byword, is based principally on Rashi's commentary, which is the primary focus of the text.The Commentary Digest present Rashi's commentary verbatim in its entirety, as explained by leading supercommentaries such as Mizrachi and Gur Aryeh. It also includes all rabbinic sources from talmudic and midrashic literature.
