"From the creators of Big Love, the darkly funny Getting On returns for an all-new season, as the dysfunctional staffers of the Billy Barnes Extended Care unit continue to fumble their way through dealing with the elderly. This season, Nurse DiDi (Niecy Nash), no longer the new kid on the block, fights for a long-overdue raise while facing new responsibilities and family stresses. After getting some big news about her future, veteran Nurse Dawn (Alex Borstein) is more set than ever on making a home with male Supervising Nurse Patsy (Mel Rodriguez), who's pushing his new ""Lean & Green"" environmental program and letting the results go to his head. Meanwhile, a reinvigorated Dr. Jenna James (Laurie Metcalf), director of the ward, lets her newly promised research (which she got financing for in a backroom deal last season) run amuck, and finds herself in bed with a corporate hospice program that begins to take over the ward. Through it all, these medical ""professionals"" try to keep it together as they face the hilarious ups and downs that come with caring for patients who are, well, getting on."
