The user can filter the information displayed on-screen to only get the data that seems relevant to him or her. The player can decide to play either as a male or female manager. Interactions between the assistant manager and the manager have been improved. The assistant manager gives in-match and pre-match feedback on how the team is doing in-game while also providing clues on how the team can fare better. Mid-match tactics and talks with the team have been enhanced too. Transfer rumours is another highlight of this game. Players can be trained with much ease and be assigned new positions and moves that are not naturally theirs. Player ratings now have decimal points. In the newly implemented press conferences, the user has the opportunity to build his or her rapport with journalists. Furthermore, transfer and finance systems have been revamped. More than 3,50,000 players and 5,000 playable clubs from more than 50 countries have been featured in Football Manager 2009.
