"Follow the Warrior's Path is an exciting novel relating the life and struggles of Ohiyesa. The ideals and values learned through his completely traditional upbringing as a Sioux Indian sustained him through a difficult life. After he was forced into a very different modern life, his strivings for advancement took him first to a one room school, on through Boston University Medical School, then to the Massacre at Wounded Knee. Under his new name, Dr. Charles Eastman, Ohiyesa became a well known physician, a prominent author, and a spokesman for the Sioux Nation."
