Colonel Chuck Gutekunst writes of his aviation experiences, the judgments that kept him and his fellow airmen alive, and friends made and lost in combat. (He was he only member of his original B-17 crew to complete an operational combat tour.) His tales of camaraderie, fear, and exhilaration will touch readers as the description “The Greatest Generation” comes alive. Col. Chuck celebrated his 100th birthday in February 2019. All proceeds from this book will be donated to the 100th Bomb Group Foundation.
