Description
Groundbreaking when it was first published in 1992, "Feelings" is now out of print and, until now, has been unavailable. This second edition is edited and has a new introduction by Margot Wilson, an anthropologist and author of Stephanie Castle's life history, "Girl in the Dream," which was published in 2018. "Feelings" provides intimate insights into the perspectives and experiences of a male to female transsexual person, written at the time of her transition. Although Stephanie was born and educated in England, she immigrated to Canada more years ago than she cared to remember. Coming from a very masculine background and having always engaged in typical male pursuits that undoubtedly made her transition more challenging, Stephanie shares the intricate details of her experience with the verve, grace and perspicacity of a consummate story-teller. An author and publisher in her own right, Stephanie has written a dozen books on trans topics, along with numerous other publications that dealt with subjects unrelated to the issue of gender dysphoria. Stephanie's most fervent hope was that "Feelings" would help build bridges of tolerance and objective thinking about a sensitive and sometimes "baffling" subject. This second edition is offered "in memoriam" as Stephanie passed away at the ripe old age of 92 in 2017.
