Feedback Control System Analysis and Synthesis

The main objective in writing this book has been to produce a good textbook from the student's point of view on feedback controls that would unify the diverse methods of analysis and would present the fundamentals explicitly and clearly. This enlarged second edition gives the material in a sequence that, in the authors' experience, enables the reader to understand and apply the basic principles. Terminology and definitions are introduced and explained as needed; emphasis is placed on the topics considered most important; and the material is arranged for ease in understanding. As science and engineering proceed into the arena of knowns and unknowns, the past must continuously be reevaluated. This was borne in mind in the preparation of the second edition. Some topics were compacted and others amplified; some were relocated; and some were introduced in order to achieve a more cohesive and up-to-date text. An engineer having a thorough understanding of the material in this text and having available both analog and digital computers has both an up-to-date knowledge and powerful analytic means for the analysis and synthesis of control systems.
