The events of the story take place in the city of Milan, Italy, in the year 1928, around the beautiful farmer Elena and her deformed son, Chris, who were forced one day to forcibly leave their home and village where they grew up. This is due to marginalization and racism by the village residents. They went to live in the city; Hoping to have a decent life there, so that it would become clear to them, and to Elena in particular, that living in the city was no less bad than their lives in the village. About the Author The writer Ali Ibrahim was born in Baghdad Governorate, and grew up in one of its poor and noisy cities. He began writing poetry and thoughts at the age of sixteen, and soon entered the world of writing, which appealed to him and his passion, and he found himself diving into its depths. He completed his first manuscript (Elena) when he was eighteen years old, a high school student and novelist interested in literature, philosophy, and history.
