Ecological Diversity and It's Measurement [first edition]

This text summarizes the relevant literature and provides guidelines on the interpretation of diversity indices and on their role in ecological monitoring and conservation. It discusses sampling procedures and the choice of appropriate indices and includes worked examples to demonstrate the calculation of diversity indices. No great expertise in mathematics is assumed on the part of the reader. The book is aimed mainly at students of ecology but will also be of value to field workers in conservation work, ecological monitoring and ecological survey work.
