Together for the first time, artist Karen Wippich and writer Tom Vandel, both hailing from Portland, Oregon, have created a book that provides a glimpse at some of the odd and ordinary people who are out there among us. “Driving Strangers: Diary of an Uber Driver” combines Karen Wippich’s strangely intriguing portraits with Tom Vandel’s short, pithy musings about the people he ferries about as an Uber driver.
