   Description
The Digieffects Skew Effect for Damage v2 Plug-in allows you to simulate analog noise in a video clip. Deriving its name from the skew control on old professional video tape recorders, the Skew effect can be applied directly from within the Damage software UI. You can easily simulate the analog noise that used to be present in video transmission owing to weak analog antenna signals or consumer VCR tracking processes. You can insert and precisely control effects such as image shearing, vertical rolling, horizontal hold loss, ghosting and noise bars in your video clips using the Skew Effect for Damage v2 Plug-in. Color adjustment parameter incorporates a wide variety of controls such as tint color, brightness lift and variance, contrast and contrast variance. You can use the noise max, noise variance, micro noise, noise width and noise tempo controls available within the Noise parameter to adjust the different qualities of the analog noise to be introduced in the video clip. The Distortion parameter integrates two components; distortion max and distortion min, that combine to offer a single horizontal displacement value. Also included in the distortion parameter are the max tempo, amplitude, frequency, speed and offset variance controls. The Glow parameter to simulate the glow pattern that was found to encircle video noise on older television receivers. Glow size, threshold and intensity can be fine-tuned using the controls incorporated within the Glow parameter. Reflections and interference patterns of electromagnetic energy can be astutely simulated using the Ghosting control that also offers 3 offsets, weight controls and a primary weight control. The effect of vertical bars occurring in video due to electrical interference via Bars parameter and fine-tune its properties using the bar height, ripple frequency and darkness controls. A malfunctioning vertical hold or loss of vertical sync can be simulated using the Vertical Hold parameter. You can use the roll probability, length and speed controls to adjust the vertical hold effect. The Skew Effect for Damage v2 is compatible with Windows and Mac operating systems.
