Delta Pine Summer

It was a world and a time of its own, the mid 1960’s on Delta Pine Plantation in the Mississippi Delta. Cookouts at Uncle Joe’s Landing, making witch's brew with our bare feet on the sandbars of the mighty Mississippi River, rowing on Deer Creek while knocking copperheads off a wooden boat, earning a silver dollar for swimming the length of the swimming pool, fishing at Catfish Point – those poignant memories filled long Delta days in an era that is no more, a Delta Pine Summer.
