The hack and slash action-adventure video game series Darksiders was created by Vigil Games and is currently being worked on by Gunfire Games, founded by some of the original Vigil employees. The show takes place on a post-apocalyptic Earth where humanity is on the verge of extinction and angels are engaged in a losing conflict with demon armies to control the planet. They include the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the final Nephilim tasked with restoring harmony to the cosmos. Darksiders, the first game in the series, was released in 2010 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows. A conflict between Heaven and Hell breaks out in the original setting of a contemporary Earth. One of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, War, finds himself in the middle of the conflict on Earth. The Charred Council accuses War of upsetting the Balance and ushering in the Apocalypse when he is murdered during the battle. To find those genuinely to blame, War is sent back to Earth, where 100 years have elapsed. Gameplay In Darksiders, players take third-person control of War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. There are different parts of the globe, many of which are initially unavailable until later in the game. The Scalding Gallow, located in the world's heart, serves as a hub where War is given new tasks and routes to open up new territories, many of which require the use of recently acquired skills to advance. At first, War can only utilise his two-handed signature sword, Chaos Eater, but as the game progresses, he ultimately acquires more weapons. He also possesses a Scythe, which he employs as his other primary offensive tool. Weapons can be acquired throughout the game and have a variety of attack combinations. Players are urged to use countering moves, blocks, and quick dodging in addition to combos. In the boomerang fashion, you can also utilise projectile weapons like a revolver and a throwing blade. Plot The realms of Heaven and Hell have been at War with one another since the beginning of time. A mediator known as the Charred Council was established to keep "the Balance" of law and order. The Council formed the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse as a military brotherhood to uphold their laws by punishing violators. Under their protection, the Council designated humans as a third kingdom, anticipating that they would play an essential role in maintaining the Balance. When the kingdom of Man had become powerful enough to join the Endwar, Heaven and Hell agreed to a truce and sealed it with the Seven Seals. The Apocalypse would occur if the seals were broken, and the Four Horsemen would be summoned to Earth when the final Seventh Seal was broken.
