Cool tone papers have a slightly bluish or cool appearance in the shadow areas and are used for industrial and commercial photography. Neutral tones are the most common tone of darkroom paper and give a neutral neither cool nor warm black appearance to the shadow areas. This paper tone is used for all types of photography. Warm tone papers have a more brown appearance in the shadow areas and are mostly used for landscape and portraits.
