   Description
King Henry V, the hero of the battle of Agincourt, founded Syon Abbey in 1415. The famous Abbey was built on the banks of the Thames and was the home of the Bridgettine Sisters of the Order of the Most Holy Saviour, established by Saint Bridget of Sweden in 1370. They are the only English religious community to have survived the Reformation and have faithfully continued to sing and recite their unique daily prayers to this day, namely the DAILY OFFICE OF OUR LADY. Once only heard in Latin within the Sisters' private church or chapel this unique Daily Office, in honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary, has just been published in English for the very first time. Its use is approved for personal, private prayer and it contains 100 pages of plainchant music as well as historical notes, illustrations and instructions for everyday use. This beautiful, gilt-edged, hardback, commemorative edition of 560 pages has four ribbons for easier place-marking. It makes a most unusual and unique gift for prayerful Christians of any tradition.
