Seven chapters provide brief biographies, a general appraisal of style and analyses of some major works of the following people: Arnold van Wyk, Hubert du Plessis, Stefans Grove, Graham Newcater, Peter Klatzow, Roelof Temmingh and Carl van Wyk. An eighth and final chapter presents a survey of a younger generation of composers, all under 40, who have already made their mark at home or abroad. Readership: students, the interested reader, compilers of programme notes, musicologists.
