Catalog of an exhibition held at the Cleveland Museum of Art, October 2-November 24, 1968, which included loans from museums and private collectors in the United States, Europe, and Asia, many being shown for the first time. The book contains two lengthy scholarly articles as well as annotated b/w photographs of 306 items, including sculpture, silver, ceramics, painting, calligraphy, wood-block prints, lacquer, jade and ivory, and textiles.
