At 4096 x 2400, Canon's 4K resolution generates a bigger, richer picture made up of more than 9.8 million pixels - higher than the Digital Cinema Initiative (DCI) standard for 4K cinema (4096 x 2160) and more than QFHD (3840 x 2160), the resolution standard for 4K TV. When compared to popular Full HD (1920 x 1080), this projector's native resolution produces more than four times the resolution. This high resolution can help in a variety of applications ranging from viewing highly detailed works of art in a museum or gallery, to producing highly accurate video and images with a wide depth-of-field to get as close as possible to a real life experience via a simulation system. Up to 6000 Lumens and up to 10,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio (up to 4000:1 Native Contrast Ratio) Deliver Bright, Engaging Images The REALiS 4K600Z projects clear, bright images at up to 6000 lumens with a contrast ratio of up to 10000:1 when the Dynamic Contrast function is used - and with a native contrast ratio of up to 4000:1. This helps ensure deep blacks, bright whites and outstanding color, clarity, depth and dimension for high-quality images. Laser Light Source Provides Longevity, Versatile Installation and a Wide Color Range The projector's laser light source provides up to 20,000 hours in standard use of continuous, reliable, high-quality projection. The hours of operation can be nearly doubled when utilizing the Long Duration modes to up to 20 times longer than a conventional lamp's life. Operation is virtually maintenance-free with minimal downtime, as the lamp does not need to be replaced. This keeps running costs relatively low when looking at the total life of the product - a key consideration for challenging and hard-to-reach installations. Other advantages of the laser light source include quick start-up time. Fast Boot Function When Fast Boot Function is set to ON the startup time is reduced to virtually 2 seconds the next time the projector is started from a standby status. Omnidirectional Projection Because this projector uses a laser light source instead of a conventional lamp it can be installed at any angle on a 360 deg. axis facing in any direction. A Menu Rotation function also enhances portrait projection, allowing adjustment of the angle of the projector's menu up to 90 deg. left and right. Wider Color Gamut Because the laser light source produces a wide range of colors, the REALiS 4K600Z covers the sRGB color space to deliver millions of colors. Quiet Modes Quiet Modes reduce the volume of projector operation to around 29 dB for more silent performance to reduce any potential of interfering with audible content. Compact and Lightweight Design Canon's cutting-edge optical design achieves 4K resolution and 6000 lumen brightness, within an incredibly compact projector size. The innovative AISYS Optical Engine makes this possible by independently controlling light in both vertical and horizontal directions to achieve both high brightness and contrast. Combined with the small size of the LCoS panels (just 0.76 inches), the projector is incredibly compact while delivering outstanding performance. At a height of 7.9 inches, width of 22 inches and weight of 57.3 pounds, it's smaller and lighter than many others. LCoS Technology with AISYS-enhancement Offers Seamless Images with Exceptional Color Reproduction The exceptional imaging performance of this projector starts with Canon's proprietary AISYS (Aspectual Illumination System) Optical Engine, which utilizes advanced light management technology to maximize the contrast and brightness benefits of the projector's LCoS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) display panels, which deliver superior reflectivity and durability while accomplishing high luminance. The LCoS panels are relatively small in size, allowing for an overall compact projector that delivers high-resolution and high-quality results. With Canon's AISYS-enhanced LCoS technology the pixels are close together, producing images that are virtually seamless, where with other technologies there may be grid lines visible from their larger spaces between pixels. The result with this projector is an immersive 4K resolution picture with crisp detail and true-to-life color. Specialized Genuine Canon Optics Provide Exceptional Image Quality Throughout the 1.76x Zoom Range (1.3-2.4:1 Throw Ratio) Drawing on Canon's advanced optical expertise, the built-in specialized 4K standard focus zoom lens projects virtually distortion-free 4096 x 2400 resolution images. The design includes the same bold red ring around the lens barrel as Canon's renowned L-series EF camera lenses, which are highly regarded among professional photographers as many of the industry's finest. The lens itself features a multitude of sophisticated Canon technologies, such as dual-sided aspherical lens elements as well as Ultra Low Dispersion (UD) lens elements. These elements significantly reduce chromatic aberration, curvilinear distortion, ghosting and flare to create sharp and clear images in a compact size.A deep depth of focus from F2.6 - F2.75 as well as a Marginal Focus feature allows images to be rendered in complete focus onto a variety of concave or convex surfaces. Where other projectors may distort or bow at the edges, Canon's optical technology keeps the image bright and sharp with significantly low TV distortions. The Marginal Focus feature takes advantage of a multi-segmented 4K lens which allows for adjustment of peripheral areas of the image while maintaining center focus. This results in beautiful images with edge-to-edge focus on spherical surfaces.Exhibiting a 1.3-2.4:1 throw ratio, the Genuine Canon lens of this projector, virtually maintains brightness consistency at 6000 lumens throughout the 1.76x zoom range, resulting in images that remain clear, bright and color-true no matter the projection distance within the zoom range. Dual Image Engines Execute Highly Complex Image Processing for Uncompressed 4K 60p Playback and Upscaling of Non-4K Content Canon's advanced, powerful dual image processing engines produce exceptional reproduction of virtually all content. The engines also allow the projector to offer a variety of features that help enhance the quality of still and motion images, making them more realistic and impactful. 4K Video Playback at Up to 60p Smoothly reproduces uncompressed 4K video at up to 60 frames per second for a natural, fluid feel and highly detailed, true-to-life content. Upscaling Non-4K content will be maximized utilizing two upscaling technologies of BiCubic and Canon's proprietary Sharp Trace - which can detect contours of an image in a diagonal direction and performs interpolation, resulting in a stunningly smooth image. High Dynamic Range (HDR) The REALiS 4K600Z supports High Dynamic Range (HDR) exhibiting bright highlights and deep blacks for a wider dynamic range. The wider dynamic range expands the contrast and the color, both extremely important factors when it comes to the image. This, combined with highly detailed 4K resolution provides the ultimate viewing experience. Advanced Professional Calibration Settings Ensure Image Quality is Maximized Periodical calibration ensures maximum color and brightness performance. Canon's internal sensors make this process simple, adjusting gamma, color temperature and brightness back to the original specification. Gamma Restore This calibration setting measures the RGB luminance of the projector's LCoS panels and corrects the gradation to the factory default setting. Adjust Panel Temperature In order to combat any variations in gradation caused by temperature changes, the internal sensor detects the temperature near the LCoS panel, then produces a reading to control and correct the variation in gradation. Light Calibration This function corrects the hue according to the aging variation in the laser output. The function automatically runs when the projector is shut down, however users can manually execute this after 30 minutes of operation have passed.
