Cagney's Locomotive Works-Miniature Railroad Catalogue

Beautifully done reprint of the first brochure and the first catalogue produced by the Cagney Brothers, owners of the Miniature Railroad Co. The brochure was originally published for the 1901 Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, NY. The Cagneys built, operated and sold their railroad systems until 1948, eventually selling about 1300 locomotives around the world, including one sent in 1902 to the Blakesley Hall Railway in Northamptonshire, very near to the doorstep of W. J. Bassett-Lowke in Northampton. (It is probably not a coincidence that The Miniature Railways of Great Britain Ltd. was formed in 1904 or that Harry Greenly soon began building his own series of 15" locomotives, culminating in the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway's Pacifics.) Illustrated throughout with black and white photos showing the manufacturing plant and the railroads in action. The catalogue provides detailed information on the different locomotives and railroads available. There are also photos and information on Cagney locomotives that survived into the modern era. 55 pages.
