This guide to modern and ancient Turkey and winner of the Thomas Cook Guide Award, has been extended to include the whole of Turkey. It includes descriptions of all the main towns and archaeological sites. The book also contains hotel and restaurant recommendations and information on transport, language and customs. There are also itineraries, to be followed by either car or public transport, that take the visitor to the Hittite sites of central Anatolia, the Urartian remains around Lake Van, the classical sites of the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts, the Crusader castles of the south-east and the Selcuk mosques and medreses of Konya, Kayseri and Sivas.
