The events of the novel take place in London, the capital of England, in the year 1995. The events begin when the case of a series of serial crimes is assigned to the detective (Eric), who receives help from the teenage girl (Emilia) whom he previously saved from the fire of her house, and who happens to have great intelligence due to her passion for novels. Police. The criminal always leaves a signature of a black cat on the victims' left cheek, along with some distortions of the corpses, as if he was sending a message, which the teenager analyzed: "I don't hear, I don't see, I don't speak." Events take place in an unexpected way after the criminal nicknamed “The Black Cat” appears with a completely different method of killing his new victims, and leaves the bodies in a similar place. Here the events begin and the investigator attempts to solve the mystery with the help of the young teenager.
