The game BioShock: Infinite and the predecessors of the game, BioShock and BioShock 2 are set during the age when gears and sprockets formed the backbone of technology. The previous games were set in an underwater city called Rapture where science was perverted to create monsters albeit as a side effect of nobler pursuits. Infinite however takes place in the skies. The City is called Columbia and it floats among the clouds with the help of Blimps and huge Balloons. The game is the third edition to the hugely popular game franchise which has been developed by Irrational Games. BioShock: Infinite (Premium Edition) is published by 2K Games and also has a revamped game engine with enhanced graphics and in-game physics. The game takes a whole new level in terms of story based gameplay and high detailed graphics. The accuracy of the detail is simply thrilling along with the interaction with in-game objects and NPCs. The survival based game has elements of horror together with a mystery solving puzzle template in its design. This makes it accepted within a wider range of gamers including both casual and hard-core gamers alike. The game is a First Person Shooter with Role Playing elements in the gameplay. The gripping story keeps the gamer glued to it from start to finish. An ESRB rating is still pending as the game is slated for an early 2013 release with a probable Mature rating. It has received a PEGI rating of 18 and above taking into consideration the theme and genre of the game. Synopsis and Features: Columbia is gripped with Civil War and the battles are getting increasingly more violent and dangerous for everyone in it. There is no clear means of escape from this city as it floats thousands of feet in the air, held up by a bunch of giant balloons and gas filled blimps. First launched in the year 1900, the city was to serve as a monument, World Fair and a Global Attraction, featuring America’s ingenuity and everlasting hope. The city was designed to float around the world, showcasing its architecture and unique airborne environment. The city is also named after the feminine depiction of America. For a short while, Columbia floated around the world doing what it was showcased to do. However, after a certain point in time, the true colors of the floating city came to light. It was later discovered that the city of Columbia was primarily designed to be used as a full-fledged battleship. The weapon-enhanced Columbia quickly becomes violent and starts to attack cities on the ground, causing the American Government to decline any sort of association with it. Attempts were made to bring the city back to their own airspace and quell the rebellion, but to no avail. Finally, they discover that the city has disappeared from view and has dropped off the map to obscurity. During the time when the city disappeared, the inhabitants started losing their minds. They grew mad and started going rampant about the city. Civil War Broke out and the populace split into two major factions, The Founders, who were the custodians of the city when it first started going hostile on other cities and the Vox Populi, a group of resistance fighters who want to overthrow the deviant Founders. Over the years, the methods of fighting used by Vox Populi become increasingly more violent and perverse. Booker DeWitt has to set things right and rescue Elizabeth. The single player game is designed for the PS3.
