TRISHUL Vijay (Amitabh Bachhan) is the illegitimate son of a construction baron Raj Kumar Gupta (Sanjeev Kumar) and his first love Shanti (Waheeda Rehman), whom he gives up to marry a wealthy heiress. Shanti comes by to wish him success on his marriage, with the news that she is carrying his child and moving away. She gives birth to son Vijay and raises him into adulthood. After she dies, Vijay comes to Delhi to take revenge by destroying his father's business and family connections. Shashi Kapoor and Poonam Dhillon play his half-siblings who are caught in the crossfire of Vijay's revenge. ANGOOR Raj Tilak (Utpal Dutt) and his wife (Shammi) are on a trip with their twin sons, both of whom they call Ashok. Since they look the same, they should be called the same, is Mr Tilak's reasoning. As fate would have it, they adopt another set of twins, both of whom they call Bahadur. An unfortunate accident then divides the family, leaving both parents with one child out of each pair of twins. A few years later, Ashok (Sanjeev Kumar) is married to Sudha (Moushmi Chatterjee) and Bahadur (Deven Verma) is married to Prema (Aruna Irani). They all stay together with Sudha's younger sister Tanu (Deepti Naval). Into their lives enter the other Ashok, a detective novel aficionado, and Bahadur, a bhaang(an Indian concoction containing marijuana) lover. Now there are two Ashoks and two Bahadurs in the same city. This is more than their families, the Jeweller, the Taxi Driver, the Inspector can handle. AASHIRWAD Jogi Thakur (Ashok Kumar) is a simple man of high principles. He is a resident son-in-law who, with his wife, has been bequeathed property and estates by his father-in-law. He breaks his marriage to an autocratic landlady (Veena) when he finds out that on her wife's order, the chief accountant of the estate has cunningly obtained his signatures on an order that the houses of the poor be burnt. He leaves home, vowing never to return as long as he lives, leaving his daughter Neena behind. He moves to Mumbai where he makes a living by entertaining children in a park(the famous song "Rail Gaadi", said to be India's first rap number). He is specially fond of a girl whose name, incidentally, is Neena, too. Unfortunately the girl takes ill and dies. KOSHISH The movie is a lesson on how to live life, taking up the lives of Hari (Sanjeev Kumar) and Aarthi (Jaya Bhaduri) who are deaf and mute. They meet, fall in love, get married, have a child who they bring up to be well educated and who gets married to a girl similar to his parents. All they have to help them is their hope, confidence and some kindness in the society along with Uncle Narayan who is blind. Tragedy strikes their lives as well when they lose their first child thanks to Kanu's greed. But they never give up hope on life and not in one instance during the entire movie do they think about ending it. They live life, fight it and succeed in it at a bigger scale than any normal person. LAKHON KI BAAT Alok, a person photographer, while covering the finals of a girls hockey championship, gets injured by a flying hockey-ball and is removed to the hospital. Alok's elder sister's husband, Prem Sagar, is a shrewd lawyer and a smart operator. When he learns of Alok's injury, he hits upon a plan to extract Rupees twenty lakhs as compensation for Alok's injury by proving that the injury has damaged Alok's spinal chord and he will be invalid throughout his life...Alok is a divorcee. His wife, Shobha, left him because he cound not meet the expenses of her aspiration to become a top play-back singer. However, when Shobha learns that Alok is to get twenty lakhs of rupees, she visits him in the hospital.
