Bel Ami chronicles the rise and fall of a young man in Paris who uses his ability to manipulate the city's most wealthy and influential women. Based on a novel by Guy de Maupassant and written for the screen by Rachel Bennette, this drama is directed by the duo of Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod. The film stars the handsome Robert Pattinson in the lead as Georges Duroy, the beautiful Uma Thurman as Madeleine Forestier, Christina Ricci as Clotilde de Marelle and Holliday Grainger as the lovely Suzanne Rousset. Georges Duroy returns from war, a penniless soldier and travels to Paris in hopes of improving his social and financial standings. He develops into a ruthless and determined man who will stop at nothing to climb his way to the top of the social circle. In Bel Ami he seduces wealthy women with his charm and wit in order to gain access to their title and wealth.
