With tapestry crochet, one or more yarns are carried while another is single crocheted. The beauty of tapestry crocheting with beads is that each thread may be loaded with one bead color and only the color that is needed at the time is crocheted to form the pattern while the other beaded thread is carried. The bead may be added to the front or back of the stitch. With felted tapestry crochet, colors are switched back and forth while tapestry crocheting with a loose stitch, so the motifs are incorporated into the piece as it is being crocheted. After felting it in a washing machine, the substantial felted fabric is reversible.
