Описание
1st printing. Book appears unread with a touch of sunning to edges of boards; unclipped ($12.95) dust jacket slightly toned overall with paperclip ghost at top of front panel. Inscribed by Nabokov opposite title page to Leonard and Felicia Bernstein 'with moch, moch love' and dated 11.11.75. The author, a cousin of Vladimir Nabokov, was a prominent composer and cultural figure; in 1951, he became secretary general of the Congress for Cultural Freedom and spent the next 15 years planning and organizing international conferences and music festivals. Nabokov corresponded and worked with Bernstein multiple times over the years. (Laid in is the original Sotheby tag from Leonard Bernstein's estate sale.) 'Bagazh' was Nabokov's second memoir, after 'Old Friends and New Music' (1951); he died in 1978. His signature is surprisingly uncommon on English-language editions of his books. 308 pages + photos.
