Bach for All Seasons: Choirbook

A representative sampling of Bach's choral music designed to be used by present-day choirs. Included is material that can be sung within the contemporary context of worship throughout the entirety of the church year, as well as in concerts. Special emphasis has been placed on music that can form the basis of a church choir's repertoire over the course of several years. In this collection are a variety of selections from the close to 200 extant church cantatas as well as the Magnificat, the Mass in B Minor, and the St. John and St. Matthew passions. Alongside these larger movements are a selection of harmonized chorale melodies that reflect the German Lutheran tradition in which Bach primarily worked.
