It kills gravel, and when you hit the pavement it still feels rock solid and ripping fast. The road-oriented geometry can accommodate both aggressive, road-style positions as well as more casual, upright riding styles. An aluminum frame paired with a full carbon fork looks great in matte black with black decals, and you'll feel like a stealth fighter blasting across back country roads fearlessly attacking gnarly gravel with conviction. But it doesn't just dispatch gravel roads with ease, it also feels sharp and snappy on pavement, nearly indistinguishable from a traditional road bike. SRAM's Rival 1 x 11 drivetrain is a nice blend of performance and price, and the 40t front ring, paired with an 11-42 cassette, gives you plenty of go-fast gearing at the top end and ample gearing for the steepest climbs at the low end. Mavic Allroad Disc UST wheels are matted with 34mm tubeless-ready WTB Exposure tires that have a file tread down the center for minimal rolling resistance on pavement, and small knobs on the outer edge of the tread for extra grip in the loose stuff.
