Gifting Bali Aurora
Awani’s “Bali Aurora” exotic fruit jam and marmalades gift set collection brings together our award winning preserves with exquisite handprinted batik table napkins.
Perfect as Christmas stocking fillers and also to give individually mums, dads, aunts, uncles and grandparents who are foodies and enjoy the exotic flavours of the tropics.
After unwrapping your gift of delicious preserves, use the batik cloth as a table napkin or handkerchief. We make our jam and marmalade gift sets by hand in the highlands of Bali. We work with a traditional Balinese batik cloth maker to create these gorgeous textiles.
Batik in Indonesia
Batik is the ancient Indonesian craft of painting and dying cotton cloth, using hand stamped wax motifs.
The craft of “Batik” is part of Indonesia’s heritage and recognised by UNESCO. Balinese craftsmen have combined traditional wax and dye techniques with tie-dye to create natural motifs in Bali, like leaves and flowers, and more contemporary motifs like hearts.
The motif on our batik textile is the blossom of a pink guava flower. Our pink guava season takes place each March to May, when our kitchen is overwhelmed by the heady scent of ripe pink guavas that we make into delicious marmalade.
After consuming our preserves, enjoy the batik wrapping as an elegant table napkin or as a handkerchief.
