While the successive volumes were passing through the press, no sheet was printed off till it had been indexed; when the chronicle was printed, the index to it was written out, and each reference tested; and, as soon as the last volume was finished, the various indexes were amalgamated; and every reference in the present volume has been tested in the proof-sheets.
