A weekend at a cozy hotel in the mountains should be the perfect getaway. but when a powerful storm hits, there's no escape. Set in winter in the Catskill Mountains, the Mitchell Hotel is set deep in the woods and is the perfect place for a quiet - or romantic - weekend away from the city. The hotel had spacious old rooms with wood-burning fireplaces and a well-stocked wine cellar. There are opportunities for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, or just cozying up with a murder mystery novel. So when the weather gets worse and the power goes out due to a snowstorm - and with it any contact with the outside world - guests stay at the hotel for a long time. They soon discover that one of them has died and it looks like an accident, but when a second inmate dies, panic creeps in.
